Breakfast in Hotel Montecarlo
1. Convenient location. Close to Termini, 10 min walk from train station, 5 min walk from metro station Castro Pretorio. Safe, very quiet area surround. Embassies near the hotel. Mini market opposite the hotel (works till midnight). Plenty of eating places around. 2. 24-hours service. Clean, well decorated rooms with daily cleaning. Very comfortable beds. 2 bottles of water in the fridge every day. Bathtub with jacuzzi (amazing!). TV channels in different languages. Safety deposit box in the room. Free map of Rome in the lobby. Lovely roof top terrace with smoking place. 3. Good breakfast with a lot of choices. Excellent coffee, fresh bakery every day. Funny pancakes maker. 4. Excellent staff. Very helpful and polite. Lovely breakfast and bar staff. The receptionists Sergey, Mica and Franco are always smiling and welcoming. Many thanks to Sergey!!! He arranged transportation to the airport and booked a table in a restaurant for us. Highly recommend this hotel!

Mari

The receptionist who we dealt with the most( Mika? I think her name was) was excellent:) She was very helpful in helping us navigate our daily excursions and was able to secure tickets for us for the Vatican, Forum and Colosseum on short notice. The breakfasts were amazing. I was expecting a small selection of coffee and pastries, but the spread every morning was fabulous! Delicious coffee, fresh juices, eggs prepared in different ways, sausages, bacon, toast, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, an assortment of cheese and cold cuts and sweets as well. This area had a great view(top floor) and tuned into a welcoming roof top bar in the evenings. Walking distance to train/bus and many site seeing venues were a bonus. The room was very spacious, clean, and the windows opened up to an inner courtyard. Our room had a spa soaker tub( recommended) which came in very handy after our long flight and walking all day.

We were looking for a place near Termini Station and were delighted with this Hotel. The staff was amazingly helpful and informative. They made me welcome immediately. This is not a modern hotel and I knew to expect older wood furniture and gleaming clean floors - was not disappointed. The shower was small but not a cheapo plastic shower, it worked great and I felt wonderful after. The room was more spacious than expected and we were unpacking and repacking our bags with ease. The rooftop breakfast area was lovely and the breakfast divine - with a broad choice of eggs, bacon, pastries, coffees, juices. We walked from here to the Trevi fountain and back and saw quite a bit on the way. It was a lovely stay.

Anne

Stayed twice (before and after train trip). The location is very convenient to the central train station (~10 minute walk)-walked with suitcases, within 10-15 minutes walk to places like Villa Borghese, Via Nazionale and few minutes walk to the metro. Located on a quieter street with embassies. Several of the staff members were exceptionally nice and helped with logistics that were important for our stay. AC worked well, nice large windows for light and fresh air. Beds comfortable and accommodated requested bed configurations for both triple and quadruple rooms. Breakfast on the the roof top is pleasant, didn't have a chance to check out rooftop bar in the evening.

Marina

The hotel is located 800m from the train terminal, within easy walking distance. The staff are very friendly and speak numerous languages. The room was very clean and tidy and was serviced daily. I would recommend booking a room with a terrace. The aircon worked a treat! Breakfast (continental style) was served in the rooftop bar, which is also a nice place to sit of an evening, prior to dinner. There are a number of good restaurants very near to the hotel, all very reasonably priced. I would recommend REbasilico, less than 200m from the hotel. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of both the Trevvi fountain and the Spanish Steps.
